Data Vs Information

Data:

• A collection of raw facts and figures that have not been analysed, arranged and processed. 
• It may consist of letters, alphanumeric values, and digits.
• Data is represented by alphabets (A-Z, a-z), digits (0-9) or special characters (+,-,/,*,<,>,=).
• Each student’s exam mark is an example of data.

Information:

• A well-analyzed, arranged and also the processed form of data is called information.
• It is meaningful  data that is used for decision making.
• The average score of a class is an example of information.
