Simple Present Tense:


Definition: 

  • We use the simple present tense to talk about actions that happen regularly or facts that are always true.

Examples:

  1. I eat an apple.
  2. She plays with toys.
  3. The dog barks.
  4. We go to school.
  5. Birds fly in the sky.

Simple Past Tense


Definition: 

  • We use the simple past tense to talk about actions that already happened in the past.

Examples:

  4. We went to school.
  5. Birds flew in the sky.
